I don’t know if any of you have ever been drawn to a book to the point where you feel trapped in its words, its story, or its characters, but I know I have. If you know me, I always have a book with me, and it’s been that way for a long time.
But whenever I come across one of those books that pull me in right away, I always become lost to the world around me. It isn’t really a good thing because somewhere, God is probably knocking on my door, and I wouldn’t even notice. Books are one thing that distracts me from God, and because He is a “jealous” God, He becomes sad that I am not talking to Him.
I don’t know about you, but I think that knowing that our Almighty-All-powerful-Creator-of-the-Universe wants to spend time with us, is something I just can’t put into words. If you have any distractions in your life (whether it’s your phone, money, your significant other, friends, money, popularity, or anything else), check out 1 Corinthians 7:35, Leviticus 19:4, and 1Samuel 12:21 and see what you think.
My name is Emily-Rose Pappas. I am 14 years old and am homeschooled. I love drawing and reading and spending time with friends and family.
