Your year-round sports connection! It’s amazing how many folks will come out to play a sport that wouldn’t otherwise come to a church function. We
continue to be encouraged as folks bring their un-churched friends to various games everyone enjoys a competitive sport, and we collectively share prayer requests at the end of each event.
From January to Easter, we play Volleyball each Sunday afternoon, with
occasional Dodge Ball & Basketball games as interest warrants. Our Men’s
Basketball team also plays each Sunday night in the Worcester Christian Men’s Competitive League. From Easter to June our spring schedule includes playing Ultimate Frisbee each Sunday afternoon on the soccer field, with an occasional soccer game as interest warrants.
On June 27th, the Holden Area Churches Summer Softball league gets going, a much lower key season that runs through the end of August, where family and friends are able to relax on a blanket and watch the games while enjoying the
outdoors. After Labor Day, Flag Football is played each Sunday,
culminating in our annual Turkey Bowl, a grudge match pitting the young “Turkeys” against the old “Gobblers” on Thanksgiving weekend.
All of these sports are co-ed, with a minimum age of 12 years old and no maximum age – older adults are encouraged to join us! If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Dan Marinone, the “Sports Pastor”, at 508-829-7159.
