If you want to reach juvenile offenders in your state with the Gospel and help them discover God's plan and purpose for them, consider becoming a volunteer. More than three million children and youth are arrested each year in the United States. Countless others are impacted, especially family and friends. We believe that this time of crisis can become the first step towards a new life. We're committed to the journey. Transformation usually doesn't happen overnight. Most often it's a step-by-step journey, filled with challenges and obstacles that provide opportunities to strengthen faith and develop character. Straight Ahead Ministries walks with juvenile offenders through every step of this journey. We begin in lock-up, offering opportunities for kids to hear and respond to the Gospel and discover new ways of thinking and living. We continue through reentry, providing structure and support to help them through the critical transition into their communities and develop the skills and character that will see them through each step of their journey of faith. We'd like you to join us. We work in partnership with churches, ministry organizations and individuals to carry out this ministry of transformation. Our prayer partners, financial supporters, volunteers and ministry affiliates provide resources, support and services for youth around the world.Worcester Food Pantries and Soup KitchensLighthouse Mission Food Pantry165 Pleasant Street, Worcester, 01609Distribution: Every Monday except 1st, 11 AM to l PM The Mustard Seed93 Piedmont Street, Worcester, 01609508-754-7098 Meal Schedule: Monday through Saturday, Winter Hours: 4-6:30pm (Summer Hours: 5-6:30PM) Sunday meal served at 12 PM. Children's Haven55 Russell StreetWorcester, MA 01609 (508) 476-7766 In 1943, Robert Murray, a prison minister, saw a need for the children who visited their parents in prison. He felt that they needed to be reached with the gospel before their hearts became hardened and follow in their parents footsteps. Thus began Children's Haven, an inter-denominational Christian ministry that brings Jesus' love to inner-city children. Children's Haven offers a place of refuge for disadvantaged children and teens. It's a place where kids feel loved and safe, and most importantly, a place where they hear the life-changing Gospel of Jesus. Children go to after school clubs for programs and supervision under the missionaries of the Haven from September to June. In the summer months, Chilaven is the summer camp where the children enjoy the pool, crafts, canoes, prizes, a carnival and Bible lessons. The fun, laughter, fresh air, hugs and friendships are a welcome change from the difficult lives they live at home. Children's Haven has three locations, Worcester, Allston and Dorchester that provide after school activities for children. The children are taught how to use the Bible and encouraged to begin reading it daily. Many come to a personal faith and acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. They are then encouraged to be an active part of a local church. Trinity Evangelical has been supporting the Haven for twelve years with our offerings and our prayers. Jesus Loves MeBecome a Host Family and Bless a Child this Summer:The Fresh Air Program sends thousands of city kids to visit volunteer host families living in suburbia and country settings each summer. Does this speak to your heart? There is a child out there who would be mightily blessed by this gift of love. Want more information?
